GreyStone Connect
announces Phase 2 of
fiber build to unserved and
underserved communities

This expansion of GreyStone Connect’s fiber-to-the-home project encompasses homes in Bartow, Carroll, Douglas and Paulding counties.

HIRAM, Ga., August 27, 2024 – GreyStone Connect is thrilled to announce the launch of Phase 2 of its fiber internet expansion project, aimed at bringing high-speed internet to more of GreyStone Power’s unserved and underserved members. The next phase will stretch into new areas of the GreyStone Power service area, including homes and businesses in Bartow, Carroll, Douglas and Paulding counties. GreyStone Connect is bridging the digital divide for its unserved and underserved customers by extending reliable and fast fiber internet service to those who need it most.

"When we started our fiber-to-the-home project last year, we quickly knew we would want to expand this project to serve even more of the GreyStone Power territory,” said Eric Lannen, vice president of GreyStone Connect. "Phase 2 of our build-out is a major step forward in our mission to provide reliable, high-quality internet to our underserved members.”

GreyStone Connect, the broadband subsidy of GreyStone Power, has been working diligently to expand fiber internet service to its members since the first zone of Phase 1 opened in late February 2024. Construction crews have been working tirelessly to extend the state-of-the-art fiber network into the Phase 2 service area.

“GreyStone Power’s mission is making life better in the communities we serve, and the expansion of fast and reliable internet service does just that for our members,” said Gary Miller, president and CEO of GreyStone Power/GreyStone Connect. “Access to our high-quality fiber network will provide opportunities for e-learning, telehealth, economic development, and a higher standard of living.”

Members in the newly announced areas can expect to receive more information regarding service availability in the coming weeks. Phase 2 will be rolled out in zones, just like Phase 1, with the first zone set to open in early fall. All members are encouraged to stay tuned for updates and to visit www.GreyStoneConnect.com for the latest updates and to check availability in your area.
